Rather parochial and short for the price. Interesting read and could inspire some to take it up. Honest account of the work involved and realistic. I would keep a copy for students but could not recommend at the price

So you want to get a job in Ecology? Then this is the book for you, full of great advice and what not to do's. Not only is there advice on getting a foot hold in the Ecology world, this book is also full of *can do* positive literature! The book is a nice read, and is not full of jargon. This book would also be good for anybody who is already in Ecology and needs to sort there life out (looking for promotion maybe). It has done me the world of good.

An informed and motivating guide for anyone - from school-leavers to career-changers - looking to embark on a career in ecological consultancy. The book outlines the skills required and provides practical and creative advice on how to acquire them. I found this book inspiring and effective - it enabled me to identify my strengths and areas I will need to develop. Highly recommended!

This book definitely does what it says on the tin! If you think a career in ecological consultancy might be for you, this book will certainly help to clarify your thoughts. As someone considering a career change along these lines, I found it really useful. After reading it I had a good understanding of what the job entails and lots of ideas about what I can to do to make myself employable. It is written in a very clear and accessible way and it keeps to the point - everything in there is useful. It covers what ecological consultancy involves, the skills and knowledge you need to do the job and ideas for how to go about acquiring them. There is also help with preparing a CV and tips for the interview, as well as really good ideas for planning and setting goals.Overall, I found it a very positive book, but without over-glamorising the job, and it has made the goal of becoming an ecological consultant seem very achievable.

A definite must have for anyone looking into being a consultant or just starting as one. Lots of tips for further career development as well so is useful beyond getting your first contract!

Arrived as described.Am still reading through at the moment but I am very impressed so far. It is descriptive, well laid out and highly informative without being overly complicated or needlessly technical!

Its an okay story book with a few facts. Dont think it is worth the full price. Hopefully can sell it on and recoup some of the cost.

A great little book that helps to give direction and support to help you reach your goal in ecology. Great read!
